ChiWalking

ChiWalking blends walking with T’ai Chi, the ancient Chinese martial art that is renowned for creating balance and strength.

Whether you are someone who walks just to get somewhere you need to be or a serious walking enthusiast ChiWalking has many benefits. It makes walking easier on the body and helps improve and eliminate the aches, pains and discomfort of walking incorrectly. Like Yoga and Pilates, ChiWalking has you moving from your core muscles, while relaxing the rest of your body, including your legs.

ChiWalking teaches you the fundamentals of good walking technique in Five Mindful Steps. The Five steps are:

  • Step One. Get aligned - physically with your posture and mentally with your intentions.

  • Step Two. Engage your core by levelling your pelvis.

  • Step Three. Create balance between your upper and lower body and between your right side and left side.

  • Step Four. Make a choice to walk in a new way.

  • Step Five. Move forward with grace and ease.

If you are interested in learning the ChiWalking technique call us or email us to arrange either individual or small group lessons. Alternatively, if you belong to a walking group or club we can come along and do a half day workshop for you.
